Nanette Van Vliet
Nanette co-founded NEDness in 2026. She continues her work with Shell International while leading operations, project delivery and human capital across the business.
Nanette is a senior change, communications and programme management leader with substantial experience of global transformation across energy, finance, technology and professional services. She specialises in business readiness, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, employee engagement, digital transformation and pragmatic programme delivery.
Her recent work includes senior change and communications roles with bp and Prosus, where she has delivered global communications strategies, leadership development sessions, business readiness plans, digital transformation initiatives and employee engagement programmes. Her experience includes supporting global Real Estate and Worker Welfare programmes at Shell, facilitating leadership development for bp leaders, and promoting AI adoption, data privacy and cybersecurity awareness across Prosus.
Earlier in her career, Nanette held senior communications, transformation and strategic project roles with Shell, ING Bank, Manpower, Nationale Nederlanden, Pon Holdings and Grainger, working internationally across Europe and the United States. She has led global teams, coordinated complex multi-country rollouts, supported senior leadership teams and delivered technology, process, governance and engagement programmes at scale.
Nanette holds master’s degrees in Strategic Communication Management and International and Intercultural Management, and a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Sociology. She is a certified Project Management Professional, Certified Coach and Scrum Master, with additional qualifications in security risk management and change management. She is fluent in English and Dutch, with working knowledge of French.
Outside work, Nanette walks her dog, paddleboards, supports founder Julia with her grand ideas and is persuaded once a year into a short triathlon somewhere memorable with co-founder Peggy.
